Ingredients
2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled)
1 cup cold unsalted butter cubed
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
Instructions:
Making the perfect Pie Crust is not too difficult. You can make it at home. Mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl, then add the cold butter pieces. Mix the butter with flour by hand or fork on in food processor. To ensure optimum flakiness retains a few larger chunks of butter in the dough. Now add enough water to form the dough into a ball. Don’t over work and make sure that the dough should not be sticky.
Once dough is ready divide it into 2 pieces and flatten each one. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
When you are ready to roll out dough, remove one of the dough from the refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes. Lightly flour your surface and rolling pin. Then use rolling pin to roll out dough to a 12-inch circle (about 1/8-inch thick). At the time of rolling apply even pressure. Now transfer the dough to a 9-inch pie plate, gently fit it in, trim any excess dough, and decorate the edges.
Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes. To get the full tenderness and flakiness, bake the pie crust until it turns fully brown, not just golden.
